Always wanting to learn more and educate myself about American history, I looked up Thanksgiving on the Internet and found this short bio on its history. So, in this article, you will find 50 beautiful thanksgiving greeting ideas. Hopefully, it will inspire you much.
DID YOU KNOW? When did the holiday start? Actually, there were various Thanksgiving Day celebrations throughout the early years of colonial USA and Canada. It was George Washington who first declared that all the members of the new Union should celebrate Thanksgiving on the same day, Thursday, November 26, 1789. But, not surprisingly, it was Abraham Lincoln who first declared Thanksgiving as a US national holiday in 1863. America’s neighbors, the Canadians, celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October”.
So then please join me in giving thanks and expressing our gratitude to all the ‘good and not so good’ people that crossed our path this past year. Join me in giving thanks to all the ‘good and not so good’ circumstances and situations we encountered and which helped us grow and learn more about ourselves and the world around us.
Let us be thankful even for what we would call negative circumstances or a negative experience. Even if you lost your job or are facing challenges in your career, relationships or money matters please always remember: ‘nihil fit sine causa’, nothing in life happens without a reason. It’s the cosmic law of cause and effect. Whatever appears in your life, your environment is the physical manifestation of your conscious as well as your subconscious mind and feelings. Whether you are aware of it or not, you are the creator of everything that happens and appears in your life.
Blaming others or the outer circumstances or being in resistance to what is will not help solve or better the situation. Better is to accept responsibility for it as being your very own creation. I have learned and been practicing to make an adverse situation ‘my friend’. Instead of resisting it, I am breathing it in ‘as my friend’ and breathing it out, letting it go ‘as my friend. I have found this very simple but powerful Ho’oponopono CleansingMantra to be very effective. Hooponopono in Hawaiian means to ‘make it right’.
Let’s all chip in practicing ‘making it right’ when we feel overwhelmed by all the things on our to-do list piling up for this Thanksgiving and the coming Holiday Season. Let’s practice ‘making it right’ when the emotions and the different energies of relatives and friends around the table are about to fly high
Let’s practice ‘making it right’ and become the ‘solid rock in the storm’, the compassionate and peaceful warrior to our family, relatives, friends, colleagues and the strangers we meet along our path. Let’s all chip in creating the world we want in future for ourselves, our children and the planet that so kindly and forgivingly hosts us.
